Diagnostic Indications Sterile, pyrogen-free solution for intravenous administration. Is used as radioactive tracer to measure the glucose metabolism in the diagnosis of a primary disease, recurrent or metastatic from a variety of malignant tumor entities, studies of cardiomyopathies, osteoarthropathy, and other neurological injuries.
18F-FDG is the most widely used radiotracer for PET studies make it possible to achieve high definition 3D imaging in the diagnosis of brain tumor pathology, bone, liver, pancreatic (langerhans islet cell tumor), lung, kidney, skin (melanoma), thyroid, small bile duct cancers, breast cancer and axillary lymph node metastases, carcinoma of the colon and rectum, and others.
